Bertin Alpao

In 2024, Bertin Technologies acquired Alpao, a French major player in adaptive optics around the world. Founded in 2008 and based in the French Alps at Montbonnot Saint-Martin (38), Alpao comes strengthened the group’s photonic department, alongside the Bertin Winlight Business Unit and became Bertin Alpao.

Bertin Alpao designs and manufactures state-of-the-art adaptive optics components and systems, including deformable mirrors, wavefront sensors, driver electronics and software. Those unique technologies effectively and timely correct optical aberrations, ensuring high-resolution images. Bertin Alpao’s solutions meet the diverse but critical needs of research and industry, with applications in astronomy, ophthalmology, microscopy, optical and quantum communications, defense and laser technologies.
